海盜隊投手Gerrit Cole台北時間14日對費城人之戰，先發6局失2分、1分責失，幫助海盜4比3擊敗費城人，Gerrit Cole是本季大聯盟第1位拿到10勝的投手，而且防禦率1.71，也是大聯盟最佳成績。

Gerrit Cole開賽時稍微不穩，1局上費城人Ben Revere率先敲出安打，接著盜上二壘，再靠著失誤上三壘，Chase Utley的高飛犧牲打，打回1分，但海盜隊1局下靠著2支安打攻得2分，2局下又靠著3支安打得到2分，4比1領先，讓Cole很快地穩定了下來。

Gerrit Cole此戰先發6局被擊出5支安打失2分、1分責失，三振7次、沒保送，精采的優質先發，拿下本季個人第10勝，也是大聯盟率先10勝的投手，接下來海盜牛棚啟動勝利方程式，Arquímedes Caminero、Tony Watson各中繼1局，最後Mark Melancon收尾，本季第20次救援成功。

24歲的Gerrit Cole，本季表現優異，最近他5場先發都拿到勝投，而且自去年9月開始，他18場先發戰績14勝2敗，是大聯盟新生代的強投，費城人Sean O'Sullivan先發6局失4分，吞敗投（1勝5敗）。

海盜隊此戰共擊出8支安打，Starling Marte敲3安、1打點，Grégory Polanco敲2安，Andrew McCutchen敲1安、2打點，姜正浩也擊出1支安打，本季打擊率2成81，費城人擊出9支安打，Ben Revere擊出3支安打表現最好。
